Yes, at Active Windows all of our UPVC shaped windows are bespoke and to your every requirement, so you can be confident that unusual shapes can also be accommodated. From arched, to round or odd shaped windows, at Active Windows we’ll provide a new window that meets your required colours and finishes.
Yes, you can, however, it’s not something that we recommend as there’s a chance that it won’t look great. If you still want to paint the frames then make sure you use a PVC primer that makes it easier to paint onto, once it’s done it’s almost impossible to return to the original unpainted effect.
It’s important to note that when it comes to painting or modifying your new windows, it will invalidate your guarantee, so make sure you give us a call before you do anything drastic. However, we specialise in a range of window colours which will suit all of your requirements. This also includes being able to have different colours on the outside than on the inside, providing you with more control over the design of your home.
As windows are fitted on a project-by-project basis, there is no standard cost for our window installations across Sunderland. The cost will, however, change in accordance with a number of factors, including:
the number of windows that are required
the size of each window
the time it will take to install them
any extras e.g. window furniture, decorative glass and the window material
Before we carry out any work, one of our experienced surveyors will visit you to learn exactly what you’re looking for in new windows. Next, they will take the necessary measurements before providing you with a free, no-obligation quote so there is no pressure to buy anything from us.
What’s the Difference between Flush Casement Windows and Casement Windows?
The main difference between these two styles of window is their appearance. Flush casement windows feature a sash that sits flush with the window frame, whereas the sash on a casement window protrudes out slightly. Flush sash windows also utilise graf welding technology, creating seamless joints like those on traditional timber windows.
In terms of thermal efficiency, both are excellent choices and it is very little between the two. Here at Active Windows, our flush casements and standard casements are able to achieve Window Energy Ratings of A+ and A respectively.
At Active Windows, both our double and triple glazing products are secure due to the added strength of the extra glass panes. For windows that open, our windows come with locks and are rigorously tested to ensure that they’re fit for purpose. Casement, tilt and turn and sliding sash windows are also Secured by Design accredited.
Yes! If you are looking for something different, we offer a range of coloured UPVC which means you can transform the aesthetic of the windows at your home. Our window fitters can also help you choose the right window through our range of options available, the colours that we provide in our foiled UPVC include:
Dark Red
Chartwell Green
Anthracite Grey
Slate Grey
Dark Green
Many more…
If you have old wooden windows, then new UPVC options will definitely help to increase the value of your home; however, how much this is will be possible to say. If you’re replacing a current UPVC window, then it’s unlikely to add any significant value, however, the age of the windows might give your property an advantage over others on the market.
